Ana Maria “Kimi” Ferster |
Police sent out a missing person’s notice about Ana Maria Ferster, who goes by Kimi, July 20.
At the time, she had made contact with her family but had not returned home.
When she was found, Kimi was taken back to Loudoun County, police said.
How did you know? Yes, we are perfect.
iam so glad too hear that she was found o.k., please get help for her ,there was once a beautiful teen at about 15 she started to run away for months at a time, hanging around with the wrong people and she got worse with a stay in jail, very talented with a piano ,i miss her so much she has been gone for almost 30 years now and left 2 kids parentless , she was my older sister, please god help her, plus here broken family, i could not see this happen again, too all the critics about this child and her behavior you dont know her or what she has been through, a tattoo and a piercing is not a big deal these days, but family problems are very real, this really hurts me please get help for kimi and for the commenter “the truth” shut your fat mouth, oh but wait you and your family must be perfect
“Children need acceptance, approval, unconditional love and positive reinforcement”—are you nuts? Children need DISCIPLINE and GUIDANCE. That is what the parents of this girl FAILED to provide. If your girl is a tattooed runaway, you have FAILED as a parent. The final decision rests with the teen, tchah, that’s what spineless parents who lack the will to impose any rules say, but it doesn’t mean it’s true.
I do know the family and this poor mother has been through hell. She is mom that has done everything to try and lead her child down the right path even move in hopes her child would make new friends. PS - Kimmi did not have moms blessing for the piercings and tatoo. Those who are critizing - I am wondering have you ever raised a teenager?
My daughter went to high school in Ashburn. She has ear, tongue, and lip piercings, yet her teachers always commented on how polite she was. She might have looked like a punk, but she wasn’t. So don’t make quick judgements. My daugher had an awesome group of friends that she hung around with. I was lucky they spent their money on anime and there was never even a hint of drugs or alcohol. I never had to give her a curfew or worry when she was out with her friends. I raised her with love and respect and I am extremely fortunate that she never gave me any problems (except she hated doing dishes). Parenting is one aspect, but a teen’s behavior can be caused by other things like physical, mental and environmental stress. A 15-year-old has a mind of their own and doesn’t always think rationally. Children need acceptance, approval, unconditional love and positive reinforcement. I hope this missing teen and her parents are reunited soon and can sit down work things out. Parenting is the hardest job anyone can have but the rewards are worth it. There is no such thing as a perfect parent or a perfect teen.
The Truth,
I was in high school not to long ago, and had a tattoo and a few piercings myself, yet I NEVER ran away. (that might be hard for you to believe)I went to school with people who had the strictest parents and guess what they had the WILDEST kids! Parents can do everything right, and yet the final decision is on the teen, parents try their hardest (for the most part) to guide their children to make the right decisions; but they are just that children, they make mistakes, they are not perfect. Not to mention perhaps giving her the benefit of the doubt maybe there is more to the story than her HORMONES driving her away from home? I do not know this family but I do know that people like you who point fingers right off the bat are usually WRONG!
Oh wait I am sorry, does this not seem to happen weekly with 15yos? They run away to be with their boyfriend or whoever and come home a week or two later when they get a taste of the real world and find out having sex all day with your boyfriend is no life and sort of hard to provide for yourself. I never stated I would not keep my eyes open because trust me I would prefer shes home rather than wasting our resources for the simple fact her hormones got the best of her. If shes contacting home shes fine and trying to see how much trouble she is in. This all starts and ends with parenting but everyone wants to baby and enable kids these days and we wonder why they turn up in the news. “Oh princess your skipping school and running away but you want a tattoo on your lower back, OK princess whatever you want. Oh and now you want another hole in your face, no problems princess if you promise to be good.”
The Truth must have parenting skills only from a helicopter parent would think that way. Predjudice comes naturally to them as well. Not my kid. You’ll be surprised how many do without you hanging all over them. Not being worried about a child missing and only what it cost you as a tax payer is inhuman. I work in Reston and so if you do not mind I’ll spread the word and keep my eye’s open. If that was your kid, I would still do the same.
Parenting? What parenting? The girl is 15 has piercings all over her face and a tattoo on her lower back, aka tramp stamp. If parents were parenting this would not be wasting the time of our police resources, my time reading this, and ultimately our tax dollars.
hey martin ashburn is a quite and nice place to b and i use to live der thx u every much… and i have a friend who has a friend who is friends with kimmi
Just like all kids, they do not like the decisions parents have made for them. Can be a number of reasons. She has been in contact with her parents. Having tracking systems on the phone would be one way of locating the phone and her.
Because the helicopter parents drive them insane.
Or maybe the commute from DC results in a kid who is hardly parented at all.
Why are there so many runaways from Ashburn?
