Loudoun County Commissioner of the Revenue Bob Wertz will host informational sessions this weekend to brief residents on eligibility requirements for the county's real estate tax relief program.
Loudoun County homeowners age 65 or older, or with disabilities, who are below established income and wealth limits may benefit from lower taxes under the program.
To qualify for tax relief, applicants must have a gross combined income less than $72,000 and net worth less than $440,000, according to the county's public information office. As much as $10,000 of income of a spouse or relative living in the home can be excluded from the calculation, and net worth doesn't include the value of the home and land up to 10 acres.
The workshops will be held at the following locations and times: Cascades Library, 10 a.m. March 18; Ashburn Library, 10:30 a.m. March 20 ; Purcellville Library, 10:30 a.m. March 21; Rust Library in Leesburg, 10:30 a.m. March 22.
