Ranger Spruce Sassafras and his assistant rangers from Radio Disney asked tree trivia questions to students at Frances Hazel Reid Elementary in Leesburg during an educational game-show assembly May 25.
The students learned about trees and the environment with Project Plant It!, a program developed by Dominion power company to educate students, plant trees and improve the environment.
Project Plant It! provides teachers with a comprehensive kit of lesson plans, posters, stickers and other instructional tools that align with Standards of Learning in core curriculum subjects.
More than 30,000 elementary students in nine states, including about 450 students in Loudoun County, were enrolled in Project Plant It! this year. For more information, visit projectplantit.com.
