Reston man charged with abduction, discharging firearm, punching small dog

A Reston man is accused of shooting a gun inside a vehicle during a domestic dispute that took place between 2 and 3 a.m. July 3 in Leesburg.

Loudoun County Sheriffs spokeswoman Liz Mills said Keyvan Rafiee, 28, was arguing with his girlfriend in a moving vehicle. He is accused of brandishing a firearm, threatening her and firing the weapon out of the car once. The woman was able to get the firearm away from him and threw it out of the moving vehicle. She sustained minor injuries. Mills said Rafiee is also accused of punching the woman’s small dog, which was riding in the car.

A resident in the area heard the shot and called to report a possible car accident. Deputies responded around 2:50 a.m. to the scene at Route 7 and Leeland Orchard Road.

Rafiee is also charged with abduction, brandishing a firearm, assault with a firearm, simple assault and cruelty to animals. He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

Why is anyone riding around at 3 in the morning with a loaded gun, a dog and an angry person ?

She had the gun, satchmo, and choose not to kill him and throw the gun out the window instead.  Perhaps she realized that firing a gun in public endangers innocent bystanders.

It be nice if people in this nation would stop being so violent in the first place. Our non gun homicide rate alone makes us the most violent nation in the 1st world. Clearly the issues we have go well beyond guns.

EdMyers, if the woman had a gun, she could have killed the guy before things got out of hand.

A perfect example why fewer guns in the hands of people like this makes life safer for all.
