A tan older-model Honda Accord rammed into the side of Black Shutter Antiques at the corner of King and Loudoun streets around 5 p.m. Monday.
“The building went ‘Wham!’ and I saw the dog dish outside go flying past the window with water splaying out of it,” said Alice Blackmer, who works at the shop.
Leesburg Police reported that it was a slow-speed accident, and that as of 5:30 p.m. no request had been made for an ambulance. Damage to the building appeared to be minimal, but further assessment was needed, according to police. Rush-hour traffic was briefly backed up on both streets.
“Something always seems to happen when we get new flowers,” laughed store worker Susie Moorstein.
As yet, there have been no reports on the cause of the accident. By 6 p.m., the car was cleared from the scene.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

How old was this driver? Time for baby boomers to start turning in their driver license.
So dangerous walking the sidewalks of Leesburg. Would love to know what the person was doing to cause this accident. Thank God it was not a 1st Friday or weekend.
