Two injured following DUI crash in Purcellville

A Reston man is in serious condition in a Fairfax hospital after authorities say he drove drunk Friday and crashed in Purcellville.

Michael Zech, 28, was driving his 2007 Lexus on Charles Town Pike near Cedar Mill Road about 4:25 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle coming out of a curve, according to a Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office report.

Zech then over-corrected and ran off the road to the right. His car struck a fence and then traveled down and embankment before coming to rest in a field on its roof.

Authorities say a passenger in the car, 33-year-old Valerie Roush, was to taken to Inova Loudoun Hospital’s Cornwall campus for treatment of minor injuries.

Zech, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital. He was last listed in serious condition.
