Deborah Welsh was sworn in by Judge Jean Harrison Clements at her Investiture on June 29. Welsh replaced retiring judge Julia Cannon on the 20th Judicial District of the General District Court.
Welsh previously served as the deputy town attorney for Leesburg, as well as the Purcellville town attorney.
The 20th judicial district covers Loudoun, Fauquier and Rappahannock counties.
