Woman stabbed in Sterling shopping center

image

Deputies from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Cedar Lake Plaza shopping center in sterling at around 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 for reports of a stabbing.

A 36-year-old woman was found in the parking lot, and deputies determined the incident to be a domestic assault. A suspect, who had fled the scene, was identified and deputies posted a lookout.

A deputy patrolling in Ashburn saw the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, and 53-year-old Thomas E. West, of Ashburn, was taken into custody.

He was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.

The victim remains hospitalized with serious injuries.

This is a developing story.

Comments

You do not have all the facts. It seems people are just using this as an excuse to ramble about an incident that they do not really know a thing about. He is not a creep, age differences are not an excuse to say derogitory comments. I am not saying this did not happen, and I am upset about it, but don’t just blab about something you do not really know anything about.

I blame Obama & not enough revenue enhancement, I mean speeding tickets being passed out. Our County paramilitary force could use some new M4’s.

For a better overview of reported crime activity in the county (including type of offense) go to www.crimespot.com

When the papers report the crime under Sterling the areas included are Countryside, Sugarland, Richland Acres, Cascades,Dulles Town Center,Dulles and Sterling Park.  Anyone that knows the area can look at the addresses and see that most of the reported crimes are not in Sterling Park but scattered throughout these areas.  If you want a high rate of crime, look at the Leesburg reports!
Could also be that the most populous areas of the county have the highest number of reported crimes in proportion to the rest of the area.

Jeanne West maybe because Cedar Lake Plaza has a Sterling address?

Sterling has a bad rep because it has the most crime in the county. Look at the 2011 crime report, double on almost every stat for the eastern district compared to any other district.

Cedar Lake Shopping Center is NOT in Sterling Park!  Why does all crime east of Rt. 28 get called Sterling?

the guy was from Ashburn, not Sterling Park. So the people who elect Delgaudio have nothing to do with it. Eugene Delgaudio is an honorable man and does a terrific job and to even mention his name to having something to do with this incident is mind boggling. If anything, he should of been mentioned when the police apprehended this guy. He has been an advocate for a stronger police presence in Sterling Park.

and it’s not even Black Friday. What’s going on? Has the whole world gone nuts?

Lisa R - I don not beleive anyone is blaming Delgaudio they are only pointing to the relationship of the quality of the people and their Representative. Delgaudio is a tool and thus so are the people who elect him over and over.

who’s the moron that blames Delgaudio? I guess he was the one the gave the guy the knife to stab the woman.

He must be an illegal. Derp!

Sterling elects that idiot Eugene Delgaudio every four years.  Enough said.

DISREGARD!!  I am a complete IDIOT.  I am the one who needs to LEARN HOW TO READ.  What an IDIOT I AM!!!!

Where does it say he is FROM Ashburn??  It says he was picked up in Ashburn.  Didn’t say he was a resident.  Maybe Grandpa Tom actually lives in the slums (Sterling) and decided to flee after he stabbed his 36/yr old play toy and police happened to find him in Ashburn.  Step one…learn to READ people!!!

@ anonymous - Really it would mostly work to keep criminals in eastern Loudoun out of western Loudoun. But considering how many criminals in Sterling are illegal aliens I am not sure a fence would keep them out of western Loudoun any better than it worked keeping them down south ;)

Creepy looking dude.  He should get elected to office in Loudoun County no problem.

Maybe his 36yr old girlfriend/wife decided she could get younger fish in the sea than him. He didn’t like it and decided to take her out.

Drugs were definitely involved with this one what else could they have in common with age difference

Angry white dude from Ashburn comes to Sterling to commit crimes! We need to put a fence and border crossing at Rt28 to keep these criminals out of eastern loudoun.

Most of the problems in Sterling are because of the people in Sterling lets not act like this is some major trend now.

Crazies from Ashburn coming into Sterling to commit their crimes.

Yikes what is it with the domestic violence stories out here. Always some nutty looking guy over 50 almost always involves a stabbing.

When its over its over, just walk away people.

A stabbing??  In Sterling??  I just can’t believe it.

A 53/yr old man and 36/yr old woman?  Talk about robbing the cradle.
