Broad Run senior Chris Johnson has accepted a partial scholarship to play baseball at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. UVA-Wise competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Johnson, a second baseman, hit .370 with six doubles to help Broad Run compile a school-record 23 victories last spring. The Spartans won the Dulles District and Region II championships and advanced to the Virginia AA semifinal round.
“Our whole coaching staff is happy for Chris,” Broad Run coach Pat Cassidy stated. “He is a talented player and a hard worker. He will do great things at UVA-Wise.”
