Broad Run girls shine in Dulles District tennis final

Broad Run High School claimed its first-ever Dulles District girls tennis tournament title May 16 with a 5-3 victory over Freedom.

Mel Waterman, Lauren Northcott, Gauri Powale and Clara Sartor each won singles matches for the Spartans, while the duo of Waterman and Powale also won in doubles.

The Spartans will host a Region II first round match May 24.
