Broad Run hires Gundry as girls basketball coach

Sean Gundry will bring seven years of high school basketball coaching experience with him to Broad Run High School where he was recently named the Spartans’ head varsity girls basketball coach. Gundry takes over the program after Chris Pasternak resigned in February after one season as head coach.

Gundry coached at his alma mater Fairfax High School since 2008, serving as the lead assistant and head junior varsity coach last winter for the Rebels. Gundry is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.

Gundry filled several roles during his time at Fairfax, including statistician, assistant director of the Lady Rebels Summer Day Camp and as assistant director of spring/fall leagues.

Fairfax regular ranked among the top programs in team GPA and sent five players on to play college basketball with Gundry on staff. Prior to Fairfax, Gundry coached for three seasons at Blythewood High School in South Carolina.

Broad Run will hold a girls basketball information meeting for prospective players immediately after school May 24.
