Broad Run High School’s wrestling program conducted a camp earlier this summer for approximately 50 participants ages 5-18 of various skill level.
The Spartans’ coaching staff, along with volunteer coaches and counselors, taught the basics of wrestling to beginners and instructed the more advanced campers on folkstyle, freestyle and greco roman styles.
Broad Run head wrestling coach JJ Totaro said of the camp, “Overall, the week was incredibly successful and enjoyable for all. The coaching staff expressed their encouragement over having wrestlers who have never wrestled wanting to try it in the winter, and wanting to come back next year.”
Totaro added, “The Spartans will look to make this a yearly summer camp and look forward to expanding its numbers next season.”
