Broad Run High School golfer Desiree Razon produced the top Loudoun finish at the 2011 Virginia High School League Girls Open Championship, contested Oct. 24-25 at Kiskiask Golf Club in Williamsburg.
Razon shot a two-day total of 165 to finish in a tie for 16th place with Centreville’s Marria Cho. Razon carded an 83 on day one and an 82 on day two of the tournament.
Abby Portyrate of Clover Hill defeated Karishma Thiagaraj of Battlefield on the second playoff hole to win the individual championship. Both golfers shot 144 over their two rounds.
Two other Loudoun golfer cracked the top 30 overall. Nicole Flores (174) of Briar Woods tied for 28th place and Ariana Israel (175) of Stone Bridge placed 30th.
