The Broad Run Spartans earned their first berth in the AAA Northwest Region girls basketball tournament with a 50-49 victory over Osbourn in the Cedar Run District tournament consolation game Feb. 7.
Mariah Leonard scored a career-high 23 points, including the game-winning layup with five seconds left, to lead the Spartans. Leonard also pulled down 18 rebounds.
Fatima Kamara also collected a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to help extend Broad Run's playoff run.
