The Fire & Ice 18U softball team won the Junebug Jamboree Championship, contested in June in Hagerstown, Md. The Sterling-based Fire & Ice won five of six games in the tournament, outscoring opponents 43-13 in the process.

The tournament title qualifies the team for the Pony National Tournament in North Carolina. Fire & Ice 18U features players from several area high schools and are coached by Kevin Miller, John Bogan, Tony Sudler and Lance Palmer.
