The Dulles District will be represented by five golfers at the Group AA state tournament Oct. 10-11 at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal.
Ryan Douglass of Heritage, Ian Hildebrand of Loudoun Valley, Adam Ochs of Briar Woods and Dominion’s Sam Stillwell and Erik Dulik qualified for the state tourney through their strong showings at the Region II tournament Oct. 3.
Monticello shot a four-player total of 300 to win the team championship at the Region II tourney, contested at the Old Trail Golf Club in Crozet.
Dulles District regular-season champion Dominion (317) enjoyed the top local team finish in fourth place, while Dulles tournament champion Briar Woods (323) placed fifth.
The top two teams and top six golfers on non-qualifying teams earned spots in the state tournament. Alec Gard (75) of Tuscarora and Christian Fortier (76) of Potomac Falls fell just short of qualifying for states as individuals.
