    Hildebrand’s 68 leads Loudoun Valley to golf title

    Loudoun Valley High School shot a four-player total of 307 to win the team championship at the Dulles District mini tournament Aug. 6 at Loudoun Golf and Country Club in Purcellville. The Vikings also won individual honors as Ian Hildebrand carded a 4-under par 68 to place first.

    Hildebrand’s stellar round was five shots better than any other golfer in the field. His teammate, Scott Mumpower, finished second overall with his 73. Trevor Colby (80) and Mark Shayka (86) also factored in the Viking scoring.

    Dominion - led by Sam Stillwell and Erik Dulik’s matching rounds of 76 - placed second as a team with a 311 total. Tuscarora (315), Briar Woods (326) and Woodgrove (332) rounded out the top five in the 10-team event.
