Kettle Run High School proved worthy of its top seed in the Region II Division 3 football playoffs Nov. 18, shutting out fourth seed Tuscarora 32-0 in the region semifinals at home in Nokesville.
Following a scoreless first quarter, the Cougars outscored the Huskies 19-0 in the second quarter. Kettle Run (12-0) tacked on touchdowns in each of the final two quarters for the 32-0 win.
Despite the loss, Tuscarora completed its second varsity season with an impressive 9-3 record. The Huskies tied for second place in the Dulles District and won their first-ever playoff game - a 28-21 comeback win over Warren County on Nov. 11.
Huskies’ senior running back Cameron Molina was limited to 12 yards on 11 carries by Kettle Run. Molina - the Division 3 Offensive Player of the Year in the Dulles District - rushed for three fourth-quarter touchdowns in the victory against Warren County.
Kettle Run will host Fauquier County foe Liberty (10-2) in the region championship game Nov. 25.
Good job Huskies 2nd year team going to play offs says alot - next year go all the way - it was freezing on Friday and with the cold and traffic Husky fans were out in force - we have a great fan base that supports these kids - too bad Pammy J only stayed a short time - she should show more support at away games
