Local author to discuss Born Ready Project Nov. 17 in Sterling

Leesburg author Dave Ungrady will speak about the importance of decision making as part of the Born Ready Project Nov. 17 at Park View High School in Sterling. The event, co-hosted by the Eastern Loudoun Basketball League and Park View’s basketball program, will start at 7 p.m. in the school gymnasium.

The Born Ready Project was developed based on Ungrady’s latest book, Born Ready: The Mixed Legacy of Len Bias.

A two-time All American from the University of Maryland, Bias died from cardiac arrhythmia induced by a cocaine overdose two days after being selected second in the 1986 NBA Draft by the famed Boston Celtics.

Admission is $5 with children under 12 free with a paying adult. Ungrady will also hold a book signing with a portion of the proceeds going to the ELBL. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
