The second annual Layups in Loudoun to support Loudoun County Special Olympics is set for Nov. 17 at Broad Run High School in Ashburn. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the event starting at 6 p.m.
Alumni from local high schools will compete in a pair of first-round games. Loudoun County/Loudoun Valley, coached by Mark Alexander, will play Potomac Falls/Park View, coached by Jeff Hawes, in the first game. The second game will feature Stone Bridge/Broad Run, coached by John Costello, against alumni from newer Loudoun schools, coached by Michael Benson.
The winners of the first round games will meet in the championship game at 8 p.m. There will also be halftime games feature Special Olympic athletes against coaches.
Admission is $5 at the door with all proceeds going to Special Olympics.
