Bruce McBarnette, an attorney from Loudoun County, set a world indoor high jump record for men over 55 years of age Jan. 20 in the Sportsplex Track Showcase event at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md.
McBarnette leaped 1.87 meters, which translates to approximately six-feet, one and three-fourths inches. McBarnette will represent the United States at the next World Masters Championship in Brazil. He is a member of the Potomac Valley Track Club.
