photo

Middleburg Academy’s varsity boys tennis team won the Cavalier Athletic Conference title for the first time in school history and finished as runner-ups in the Virginia Independent Schools Division II state tournament this spring.

The Dragons entered the state tournament as the fifth seed. Middleburg defeated fourth seed Steward School, 7-2, and top seed Hampton Roads Academy, 5-4, to reach the final. The Dragons fell by a 5-4 score in the state title match against The Covenant School of Charlottesville.

Middleburg residents Noah Fenton, a junior, and his younger brother Adam Fenton, a freshman, were both named to the All-State team after going undefeated this season. Noah Fenton was selected as the Player of the Year.
