NOVA Roller Derby will host a Halloween-themed evening of action Oct. 20 at the Dulles SportsPlex, 21610 Atlantic Boulevard in Sterling. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with the event beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Skaters from each of the league’s three home teams will take part in the special bout, pitting the Slammit Janets against the Frankenhurters. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes (no masks) to the event and to bring their own chairs.

Advance tickets cost $10 and can be purchased online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com . Tickets will also be sold at the door for $12. Kids under age 6 will be admitted for free.

NOVA Roller Derby is working with the Hope for the Warriors charity this month. Hope for the Warriors was founded to enhance the quality of life for post-9/11 service members, their families and the families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty. Donations will be accepted at Saturday’s event.
