Potomac Falls High School alum Matt McLean, a 2012 Olympic gold medalist in swimming, will participate in the festivities at Cavalier Fan Fest in the University of Virginia’s Aquatic & Fitness Center Oct. 20, prior to the Cavaliers home football game against Wake Forest.
McLean and Lauren Perdue, also a gold medalist swimmer, will bring their gold medals and will be available for pictures and to sign autographs from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
McLean graduated from Virginia in 2011 and has recently returned to serve as a volunteer assistant swimming and diving coach. Perdue is in her senior year at Virginia. Both swimmers earned gold medals in the 800-meter freestyle relay.
The Aquatic & Fitness center is across the street from Scott Stadium’s north gate. Admission is free to Cavalier Fan Fest and activities will include inflatable games, sign-making, face tattoos and other activities for youth.
Cavalier Fan Fest begins at 9:30 a.m. with the football game set to kick off at 12:30 p.m.
