Potomac Falls High School alum Matt McLean was honored by his former school during the Panthers’ season-opening varsity football game against Liberty Aug. 24 in Sterling.

McLean, fresh off winning a gold medal in the men’s 800-meter freestyle at the 2012 London Games, served as the honorary game captain and conducted the pregame coin toss. He also signed autographs, took pictures and chatted with fans during the game.
