Loudoun County High School junior Maggie Phillips has been selected as the Group AA Player of the Year on the Virginia High School Coaches Association All-State volleyball team. Phillips is one of seven Loudoun players to earn VHSCA volleyball honors.
Phillips, an outside hitter who committed to play at the U.S. Naval Academy earlier this year, helped lead the Raiders to their fifth VHSLA Group AA state title in November.
Teammate Taylor Huewe joined Phillips on the first team. Loudoun County's Jenica Brown garnered Group AA Coach of the Year accolades.
Potomac Falls' Kayla Carlton and Stone Bridge's Ryan Ackermann, both outside hitters, also garnered first team honors.
Heritage's Sydney Busa was the lone Loudoun player named to the second-team, while Broad Run's Taylor Austin and Freedom's Haley Kramer were honorable mention selections.
