Potomac Falls appoints Allen to coach football
Potomac Falls High School has hired Jason Allen as its next varsity football head coach. Allen spent the previous 10 seasons as an assistant coach at state powerhouse Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake.

"I am looking forward to building a successful football program at Potomac Falls High School where the Panther players will be winners for life," Allen stated.

Allen served in a variety of coaching roles with Oscar Smith's football program, including stints as defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator.

During Allen's time at Oscar Smith, the Tigers won nine Southeastern District titles, four Eastern Region crowns, two Virginia Division 6 state championships and compiled an overall record of 125-16.

Prior to Oscar Smith, Allen played football and baseball at NCAA Division I Stony Brook University in New York. Allen taught Social Studies for 10 years at Oscar Smith and is also certified in pysical education.

Potomac Falls was 4-6 in 2012 under Mike Gims, who resigned at the conclusion of the season. The Panthers' last winning season came in 2008 when they won 10 games, including a postseason contest.

"Panther Territory is full of hard working athletes that are willing to pay the price for success," Allen stated. "Through my experiences at Oscar Smith as well as my life I understand what it takes to build a successful football program. Passion, hard work, and a commitment to excellence will bring the program to an unprecedented level of success."
