Pride swimmer Rosenburg, Falcon wrestler Hulcher win state titles

Heritage High School senior Kaleigh Rosenburg swam to a pair of state championships, and Briar Woods junior Michael Hulcher claimed a state wrestling championship at 126 pounds to highlight a busy day of varsity action Feb. 16.

Rosenburg, signed to swim for the University of Virginia, struck gold in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100 breaststroke. Her time of 1:02.12 in the 100 breast set a state meet record.

Hulcher, who eclipsed 100 varsity wins in less than three seasons, won four consecutive matches at the Virginia AA state tournament to earn the 126-pound title. Hulcher defeated Gabe Lumpp of Christiansburg, 11-4, in the final.

Several more Loudoun swimmers, wrestlers and gymnasts performed well at the state level. Check back for more coverage.
