Loudoun County High School placed six wrestlers in the finals of their respective weight classes on its way to claiming the team championship Dec. 27 at the 2012 Collingswood Xmas Tournament in Collingswood, N.J.

The Raiders racked up 181.5 points in the 14-team tournament, seven points better than runner-up Northern Burlington.

Matt Sun (126 pounds), Logan Smith (138), Hunter Day (160), Alex Reader (182), Cory Dickey (195) and Kyle Schlue (220) each advanced to championship bouts with Smith, Reader, Dickey and Schlue winning individual titles.

Brian Monroy (120) and CJ Mills (152) both reached the consolation finals and placed fourth for Loudoun County.

The Raiders arrived in New Jersey the morning of Dec. 26, a day prior to the tournament.  The team practiced for two hours before heading to Philadelphia to take in some sights, including running the infamous Rocky steps in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
