The Leesburg Ravens took the title in the 11U division at the 2nd Annual Elite Flag Football Tournament, contested June 16 at Kettle Run High School in Nokesville.
The Ravens dominated the competition, triumphing over teams from Manassas and Centreville before defeating the Bealeton Raiders, 45-7, in the finals. This is the second title for the Ravens in the tournament’s two years of existence.
In the 14U division, the Ashburn Lions lasted the longest of all the Loudoun teams. The Lions advanced to the semifinals before falling to the Manassas Sharks.
Overall, five teams from Loudoun competed in the tournament, with the Sterling Saints joining the Ravens in the 11U division, and the Ashburn Steelers and Sterling Cowboys competing in the 14U division.
The Elite Flag Football Tournament brings together house league champions from the Northern Virginia area in order to crown an overall champion. Teams from Loudoun represented the house leagues of Ida Lee NFL Flag Football League, the Ashburn I9 Flag and the Cascades-Sterling NFL Flag Football League.
