Briar Woods High School junior Matt Rolin recently received a football scholarship offer from the University of Virginia, pushing his number of Division I offers to five. Boston College, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Washington have already offered Rolin. 

Rolin, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound linebacker, helped Briar Woods win consecutive Virginia Division 4 state championships in his first two varsity seasons. His older brother, Scott, a member of Briar Woods’ 2010 state title team, was a redshirt walk-on at Virginia Tech in 2011.

Matt Rolin led the Falcons with 91 tackles, including 16.5 for a loss in 2011. He is also a starting forward on the basketball team.
