Scholarship offers mount for Briar Woods trio
The college scholarship offers continue to roll in for three Briar Woods High School football players. The trio helped the Falcons win their third consecutive Virginia Division 4 state championship in 2012.

Briar Woods junior Trace McSorley recently received offers from Vanderbilt, Western Michigan and Old Dominion to push his total number of scholarship offers to nine.

McSorley, a 6-foot, 182-pound quarterback/defensive back, was selected as the Offensive Player of the Year on the 2012 Virginia High School Coaches Association Group AA All-State team. He has started every game at quarterback since his freshman season - guiding the Falcons to a 42-3 record during that span.

McSorley also holds offers from North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Ohio, UNC-Charlotte and Massachusetts.

Falcon junior offensive lineman Jared Coker has received four scholarship offers. Coker earned honorable mention selection on the 2012 All-State team at the guard position.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pound Coker has offers from Bowling Green, Virginia Military Institute, Old Dominion and Massachusetts.

Rounding out the list is Brandon Polk, a sophomore wide receiver/kick returner. The Class of 2015 recruit recently added an offer from Old Dominion to go with scholarship offers from Bowl Championship Series schools Virginia Tech and Maryland.
