The NOVA Steelers have begun their initial season in the North American Football League, a semi-pro league. The Steelers play their home games at George Mason High School in Falls Church.

The Steelers won their debut, 19-17, over the Portsmouth Mustangs on July 17 and will play weekly games through Sept. 18. The squad features two Loudoun athletes, linebacker Frank Mills and defensive end Dan Matacic, who also serves as a trainer.
