Thanks to 12 area private basketball teams, the Cherry Blossom Breast Cancer Foundation is $4,000 richer.
Foxcroft School in Middleburg hosted the Think Pink basketball tournament Jan. 14. The five-hour event featured 12 middle school, junior varsity and varsity girls basketball teams.
Wakefield School won both the middle school and varsity divisions, while Madeira placed second in varsity and first in junior varsity.
The proceeds were garnered from team fees, sponsors and t-shirt sales. The Cherry Blossom Breat Cancer Foundation is a Loudoun and Faquier group that supports breast cancer treatment, detection and education.
Congratulations to Foxcroft and all those who so generously gave their time or a donation. Hopefully we can beat this dreaded disease soon.
