Woodgrove High School junior Brittany Basinger was selected to participate in the United States Under-17 Women’s National soccer team training camp this February in Florida.
Basinger, committed to play soccer at Division I Penn State University, was one of 24 players invited to the training camp. Players will be evaluated as the United States prepares for the CONCACAF Under-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying tournament in May.
Basinger is also a starting guard on the Wolverines’ girls basketball team. Woodgrove is 13-2 this season, including 9-1 in Dulles District play. Basinger’s younger sister, Brooke is a freshman on the varsity basketball squad.
