    Updated: Virginia High School League football ratings

    Stone Bridge, Briar Woods, Tuscarora, Loudoun County, Woodgrove and Loudoun Valley high schools are on the right side of the playoff bubble entering the final week of the regular season, according to the latest Virginia High School League football ratings.

    Stone Bridge (9-0) and Briar Woods (9-0) are currently the top seeds in their respective regions. Loudoun County (8-1), Tuscarora (8-1) and Woodgrove (6-3) would join Briar Woods in the Region II, Division 4 playoffs.

    Loudoun Valley (4-5) is clinging to the final playoff spot in Region II, Division III. Broad Run (4-5) and Potomac Falls (3-6) are one spot away from earning playoff berths in their respective regions.

    Six state champions are crowned each year in football - Divisions 1 and 2 (Group A schools), Divisions 3 and 4 (Group AA) and Divisions 5 and 6 (Group AAA).

    Here is a look at the VHSL ratings released Oct. 29 for regions/divisions that include a Loudoun team. The top eight schools advance in each unless noted.

    Agreed Cowbell.  Good news is Tuscarora and Briar Woods are being bumped to division 5 next year.  That will be good news for the smaller Loudoun schools.


    whoa…Tuscarora…what do you say to LCHS beating you out on the ratings….are you gonna take that??


    Hopefully in a few years there will be enough teams bumped up to Division 5 so Loudoun will have their own district for football games.
