Woodgrove High School’s reigning Virginia AA state champion girls soccer program celebrated eight seniors who will play at the college level Jan. 29 in the school library.
Brittany Basinger (Penn State), Ashley Bonner (American), Maggie Buxton (James Madison), Bergen Elkjer (Indiana State), Sarah Hardison (George Mason) and Ashley Tilley (Coastal Carolina) will sign letters of intent with Division I schools.
Victoria Perry (Christopher Newport) and Samantha Winkler (Eastern Mennonite) have committed to Division III programs.
All eight players were members of Woodgrove’s 2012 state championship team. The Wolverines - coached by Erin Barrett - claimed Dulles District, Region II and Virginia AA state titles and produced a 24-0-1 record last spring.
