Woodgrove hosts ‘Fore the Wolverines’ golf event

The second annual ‘Fore the Wolverines’ golf tournament drew 88 participants to Stoneleigh Golf and Country Club Sept. 17 in Round Hill. Tournament proceeds fund senior student-athlete scholarships and other activities that further the mission of the Woodgrove Wolverines Athletic Booster Club.

Three teams finished tied for first place with matching scores of 59. After the deadlock was broken by comparing each team’s score on the back nine holes, the following teams placed first through third:

-1st: Bob Caines, Charley Wooldridge, Zee Siekirski and Matt Donelly

-2nd: Mike Briel, Steve Renner, Bill Zeleski and Curt Prosser

-3rd: Kevin Herbert, Bill Logan, Jim Heivilin and Brent Christiansen

Along with the golf tournament, the event featured a silent auction, raffle items, door prizes, breakfast, snacks and lunch catered by Stoneleigh.

The WWABC would like to thank tournament chair Jan Lokie and her committee for their hard work, along with Woodgrove’s golfers, volunteers and sponsors. The event raised more than $12,500 for Woodgrove student-athletes.
