Eric Penka, history teacher at Harper Park Middle transforms his classroom into the trenches of World War I.
I love this idea. I think alot of our youth have lost touch with real history. My great grandfather fought in WWII and I remember sitting at the kitchen table and listening to him talk about war. It made me appreciate the service that each and every soldier does for this great country.
I agree! A nice and interesting story. Kudos to Harper Park & the LTM
Great job reporting and Kudos to the school and these teachers who care about the students. Shame on anyone that has anything less to say.
no one cares if you did this in the past Dave and Laugh.
WWI reenactments take place just 2 hours from Loudoun Co in Newville PA. real trenches, barbed wire, bi plane fly overs, machine guns going off at night, smoke bombs simulating gas attacks. Best have your gas mask handy.
My kids did the same drill a few years back. Guess the T-M reporter had no news to write about this week
Funny, I participated in a similar activity about 12 years ago at Harper Park Middle School in Mrs. Snyder’s history class. Where was our media coverage?
