Letters to the Editor

You deserve commendation for your editorial “Hold that town hall,” (April 20, 2017). But the Rep. Barbara Comstock you describe I do not recognize.

I have lived in the district over 20 years and the only time I saw her was once at a restaurant. The one I know is an expert at moonwalking through her term. Some examples, she lied about being bipartisan in the last Congress as her voting record proves otherwise. In the current Congress, she speaks against a bill affecting many of her constituents and turns around and votes for the bill. This pattern of deceptive behavior was also her way when she was a delegate.

Rep. Comstock has perfected the art of pretending to be accessible when she is not, which only adds to how poorly she represents her district. Juxtapose her representation with that of our local and state representatives.

Rep. Comstock must learn to emulate our local and state representatives who are totally accessible, transparent and work in a bipartisan way to solve the problems of their constituents. With so many crucial issues under assault, i.e., our health, environment, economy, infrastructure, to name a few, the voices of the voters must be heard. In fact, voters must continue to demand better representation in Congress than what they are getting now.
