Candidate forums announced

Election season has officially arrived as the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce and Loudoun League of Women Voters have announced their candidates' forums for September and October.

The Chamber will host the Board of Supervisors candidates' forum for Thursday, Sept. 27, 8 to 10 a.m.

The forum's sponsor will be Inova Loudoun Hospital, and the venue will be Belmont Country Club in Ashburn.

The League of Women Voters is once again putting on candidate forums for some of this fall's elections.

Schedule

Wednesday, Sept. 19 : 27th District Candidate Forum - Carver Senior Center, Purcellville, time to be determined.

Tuesday, Sept. 25: Sheriff's Race, site and time to be determined.

Wednesday, Oct. 3: Broad Run and Dulles District, site and time to be determined.

Wednesday, Oct. 10: Leesburg, Blue Ridge, Catoctin, site and time to be determined.

Wednesday, Oct. 17: Sterling, Sugarland Run, Potomac, site and time to be determined.

Also, on Oct. 11, at 7 p.m., the Falcons Landing Retirement Community in Potomac Falls will host a candidates forum for four races:

32nd House of Delegates District with Democrat Del. David Poisson and Republican Lynn Chapman; 33rd State Senate District with Democrat Sen. Mark Herring and Republican Patricia Phillips; and the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors race featuring Independent Scott York and Republican Michael Firetti.
