Rezonings, immigration, pit bulls on tap for board
The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors will address several land-use applications, as well as discuss illegal immigration and the animal shelter's pit bull adoption policy at its business meeting on Tuesday.The largest rezoning application supervisors may vote on Dec. 4 is one for Arcola Center, which includes 1,169 homes and 2.6 million square feet of commercial and industrial space slated for along U.S. 50 in southeast Loudoun.
They may also vote on the rezoning for a development called Braddock Village. If approved, this one would add 860 homes on 148 acres in the Dulles South area.
What's more, the board is scheduled to adopt several illegal immigration proposals it discussed during a committee of the whole meeting on Nov. 29. One proposal is to step up zoning enforcement along two streets in Sterling Park.
Finally, the board may vote to adopt a policy at the county's animal shelter allowing for the adoption of pit bulls and pit bull mixes. The shelter had been euthanizing these breeds.
The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the board room of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison St., S.E., Leesburg.
