County wins telework award
Loudoun County government's telework program has been recognized as the top local government telework program in the nation by the Telework Exchange, a public-private partnership that focuses on demonstrating the value of telework initiatives.
Loudoun County received a Tele-Vision Award for its program, which makes teleworking an option for all non-public-safety employees. Participation in the program among these employees has grown to more than 14 percent, with nearly 300 workers now working part time or full time from home.
Diane O'Grady, Loudoun County Telework coordinator, said that, on average, a Loudoun County teleworker saves driving 630 miles to and from work each month, saves $80 a month that would be spent for gas alone and reclaims nearly 11 hours normally spent commuting to and from work.

2007 BizVotes Campaign
The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce has launched the 2007 BizVotes Campaign to inform voters about the candidates for state and local offices – and whether they support the Chamber’s policy agenda.
The campaign will include a candidates’ questionnaire, weekly election e-mail messages, get-out-the-vote efforts, state and local candidates’ forums, a BizVotes blog and more.
“The outcome of these elections will determine Loudoun’s continued emergence as our nation’s finest community to live, work and grow a business,” said 2007 BizVotes Chair Mindy Williams.
“The Loudoun County Chamber intends to make certain the business community’s economic and quality of life agenda is an important factor in the outcome of these elections.”
The campaign is designed to provide voter information. The Chamber will not be endorsing any specific candidates for election.
