18-year-old severely injured in assault
A possible gang-related assault in Sterling the evening of April 26 left a teen severely injured.
Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the 200 block of Davis Drive about 6:45 p.m. for a report of several people chasing another person with what was described as a blunt object.
One of the vehicles seen leaving the scene by a witness was discovered by a deputy in the area of South Concord Court and Colonial Avenue.
The people in it were later determined to know the victim in the case and were with him at the time of the assault. They were not directly involved in the assault, but two teens in the car were charged with other crimes, including driving on a suspended license and an illegal substance charge.
As deputies were still on the scene, they received a report of a male with a head injury at Inova Loudoun Hospital.
The victim at the hospital, an 18-year-old from Herndon, reported he was walking in the area of the Sweetwater Car Wash when he was attacked by several people. The victim was later taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office continues to seek information on the identities of people involved in the assault.
