Art galleries and exhibits are found in Loudoun and Fairfax. Zuk exhibit: Hillsborough Vineyards, 36716 Charles Town Pike, Hillsboro, hosts an exhibit of the works of William Thomas Zuk through Sept. 2. Hours are Friday through Monday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., or by appointment. Call 540-668-6216. 'Etched in Time': The Artists' Undertaking Gallery in historic Occoquan presents "Etched in Time," an exhibit of etched and fused glass by David Barnes, of Sterling, and etchings by Roger Frey, of Woodbridge, through Sept. 1. An artist reception will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, 4-6 p.m. The gallery is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. daily, and is at 309 Mill St. Contact the gallery at 703-494-0584 or at www.theartistsundertaking.com.
Hanna photo exhibits: Aerial photographer Jim Hanna, of western Loudoun, has two exhibits this summer.
The first is "Rural Culture on the Edge," a photo essay of 23 images. The exhibit is on display through August on the first-floor gallery at the Loudoun campus of George Washington University, 44983 Knoll Square, Ashburn. The show is hosted in partnership with Gallery 222 of the Loudoun Academy of the Arts Foundation.
Hanna's second exhibit is "Flying Over Loudoun," at Washington Dulles International Airport through Aug. 26. This exhibit is coordinated by the Washington Metropolitan Airport Authority and Gallery 222. The exhibit is installed in the area beyond the security checkpoints in the main terminal on the arrivals level.

National Sporting Library: "Pierre-Jules Mene Sporting Bronzes From the Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mellon at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts" is on exhibit through Aug. 23 at the National Sporting Library's Forrest E. Mars Sr. Exhibit Hall, 102 The Plains Road in Middleburg.
The exhibit is free. The library's hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday, 1-4 p.m.
One of the foremost animaliers of his day, Mene (1810-1879) was best known for his naturalistic and engaging small sculptures of animals and sporting scenes. His works represent a gentle and emotive view of the natural world, a perspective that distinguishes Mene from the passion-filled and sometimes violent Romanticism of contemporary Antoine-Louis Barye's (1796-1875) animal sculptures.

Voss family exhibit: "The Voss Family: Artists of American Sporting Life" will open to the public at the National Sporting Library on Aug. 29. The exhibition features more than 60 works of art by this prolific family of sporting artists who depicted the champions of the American turf and other sporting subjects.
The exhibit brings together works by the Voss family from three museums and almost 30 private lenders. The National Sporting Library owns three paintings in the exhibition, including "Mrs. William C. Langley on Sandown" (1921), a handsome portrait of horsewoman Elida Langley riding sidesaddle while fox hunting with the Meadow Brook Hounds on Long Island.
An accompanying catalog of the exhibition (published in 2007 by the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame) will be available for sale at the library.
The exhibit is free and open to the public during the library's hours of operation, which are Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday, 1-4 p.m.

"Works of Impressionist Masters": The Trowbridge-Lewis Galleries of Middleburg host the third annual Masters' Show, "Works of Impressionist Masters," Sept. 12-14 at the galleries at 5 E. Washington St. Exhibit includes original works by the Renoir, Pissarro and Leroux families.
Emmanuel and Alexandre Renoir, great-grandsons of Pierre-Auguste Renoir, will attend two receptions.
The hours are Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday, noon-6 p.m. Reception hours begin at 6 p.m. both nights with estate wines from Three Fox Vineyards.
