Newton-Lee students send books to Kenya

Students at Newton-Lee Elementary worked on a year-end project to send books to Kenya.

The books were donated from a book drive, brought in from home and collected from teachers' libraries.

A $500 grant from Friends of Kenya helped pay for the postage to mail the books and to buy new books from the Camel Book Drive's wish list at www.Amazon.com.

With the remaining funds, another book drive is planned for this year.

The Newton-Lee students also wrote letters to students in Kenya who will receive the books.
