Obama opens office in Leesburg
The 2008 presidential campaign for Democrat Barack Obama opened its Leesburg office at 312 E. Market St. (three blocks east of the court house across from Mom's Apple Pie).
It is one of 20 offices throughout the state opening as part of Obama's effort to turn Virginia in to a blue state for the first time since President Lyndon Johnson in 1964.
The office is in need of donations of furniture and other items.
Also, there is volunteer work available going door to door and meeting and greeting voters.
Everyone is invited to stop by July 26 at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and again July 27 at 12:30 p.m.
