Open burning, alumni banquet, Flannerys update, Farmers Market and two top bands

Open burning: The open burning ban has begun. The Loudoun County fire Marshal's Office would like to remind citizens that open burning is prohibited countywide June 1-Aug. 31. For more information, call the fire marshal's office at 703-737-8600.
Alumni banquet: Lovettsville Alumni banquet will be held Saturday, June 14, at Lovettsville Elementary School. The social hour starts at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m. The cost is $15 per person. The Class of 1958 will be recognized. If you plan to attend, please contact Dick Hickman at 540-822-2680.
Flannerys with Clinton: John Flannery was elected to be a national delegate for Hillary Clinton and to attend the National Convention in Denver in August. Holly Flannery was elected a state delegate for Clinton a few weeks ago. She and John are Lovettsville Precinct co-captains for the Democratic Party.
Farmers Market: The Lovettsville Farmers Market is going strong. Open Tuesdays 3:30-7:30 p.m., the market offers an array of quality produce, wines and whole pastured chicken, and pork products.
The Immortals: Congratulations to the local youth rock band The Immortals from Loudoun Music Instruction located in Lovettsville. They were rated the No. 1 youth band in the area by the Loudoun Youth Fest 2008 selection committee. The Immortals will be opening for New York's "Senses Fail" June 21. Band members include: Lily Cousland, Kyle Lee, Victoria Protic, Laura Keim, Eric Driscoll, Patrick Ryan, Jamie Dahlman, Zack Dehart and J.T. Davis.
Lethal Dose: Congratulations also go out to the No. 2 band, also from Loudoun Music Instruction, Lethal Dose. Great job, kids.
