Man in custody after bomb threat
A Maryland man is in custody after talking to Loudoun County Sheriff's deputies about having a bomb June 6 in South Riding.
The 62-year-old man from Prince George's County, Md., walked up to two deputies in the parking lot of the Riding Plaza shopping center shortly after 8 a.m. and tried to hand them a box. The man made statements regarding a bomb.
Deputies covered and concealed the man's vehicle and ordered him to get out of the car. He was taken into custody.
The Loudoun County Bomb Squad was investigating the contents of the package Friday morning. A portion of the shopping center was closed to the public as a precaution.
