Heritage clinches Dulles District boys’ soccer title

The Heritage Pride defeated Leesburg rival Loudoun County in overtime for a second time this season May 13 at home to capture the Dulles District boys’ soccer regular season championship.

Luis Brun Rodriguez scored off an assist from Shawn Page in the extra session to give the Pride a 2-1 victory over the Raiders. Rodriguez also scored in regulation for Heritage with Nana Darko offering up the assist.

Heritage improved to 10-1-2 in the district and 11-1-2 overall with one game remaining in the regular season. Loudoun County slipped to 4-8-1 and 5-9-1.

The Pride’s 32 points in district play (three points per win and one point per draw) is enough to clinch the Dulles title even if they should falter in their season finale May 14 at Dominion.
